| Len Collette Canadian Bodybuilding longest Provincial President after 27 years is stepping down July 01, 2006 as President of the NBPFA.
Dear Friends: Back in 1976 when I attended the New Brunswick Bodybuilding Championships in Dieppe N.B. little did I know what the sport would mean to me in the years to come. At that time my goal attending this first show was to lose 10 pounds and was looking to find better ways to train and diet from my home gym. Never in my wildest dreams did I know that I would go from being a fan in 1976 to a competitor in 1977/78 to President in 1979, then a Provincial Judge and a National Judge in the 80’s going on to receiving the CBBF Honorary lifetime membership from IFBB President Ben Weider in 1993. To be a major part of NBPFA for all these years and to work for the better of our sport with Garry Bartlett and to have a chance to travel to so many Canadian Championships with him over this period of time and to realize how lucky we are to have him helping us promote bodybuilding in our Province. We have gone full circle with our NBPFA
from our very humble start in the late 1970’s to where we are
today. Now 30 years later and after 27 years as President I have reached what one would call a crossroad in my life and I have decided to step down as President of the NBPFA as of July 01, 2006. This is no easy decision and it was not planned overnight, it has been in the making for many months. In the next months I am getting ready
to retire from work and I feel it is time to let Garry Bartlett &
Ducan Lombard look after the interest of our sport in N.B. I hope that you will all get out there to make this event one great show! Nothing would make me happier! I would like to thank the many people
who have helped me and the NBPFA over these many years. Finally, in appreciation I would like to thank all the people that I have made friends with over these 30 years in our Province and across Canada and what I gave to Bodybuilding, Fitness & Figure was very small if one compared to what I got in return from the sport. I am leaving with memories that will last a lifetime and if I have accomplished to help someone not only to walk on stage the night of our many shows but to be a better person in life after their event with our association, then my job was well done. Again I can’t express enough how much your support and friendship has meant to me over this period of time. Yours Truly. Len Collette, NBPFA
