As President of the New Brunswick Physique & Figure Association I would like to extend congratulations to Saint John’s Mike Griffin who defeated the best lightweights in Canada in bringing this prestigious championship back to New Brunswick.

Mike is a former Atlantic & New Brunswick champion and has always had the ambition of joining a special list of New Brunswick bodybuilders who have won a national championship title. Finally, through the help and expert guidance of Simply For Life’s Bruce Sweeny he has achieved his goal. This past summer Bruce pushed him to the limit where he arrived in Saskatoon in awesome condition, confident that he could flex muscles with the best in Canada.

It didn’t take long to see that Mike’s superior conditioning to surface, as he dominated the class. From the beginning of the prejudging I knew his quest for a national title would become a reality, as he destroyed the competition with his huge arms, exceptional V-taper, and striated legs. In comparison to the other lightweight competitors Mike looked huge! He appeared to be at least ten pounds of muscle heavier than the others in his category.
